Yearly Membership Letter

Dear Friend of JSPL,

Thank you for renewing your membership to the Friends of the Jemez Springs Public Library by going to www.friendsjspl.org, or using the form below. Our library is the hub of our community, providing internet access, education and entertainment opportunities, literacy support, and diverse programming. Many of these services are made possible with your generous support.

Just in the last year, the Friends of the Library:

  • Purchased large touchscreen tablets for patrons’ use

  • Contributed to the Library’s general operations budget

  • Funded special purchases (a new refrigerator!) and supported new and recurring clubs and events (Book Club Books! Summer Reading! Computer Games!)

  • Funded infrastructure allowing local artists to display and sell their work in the Conference Room

  • Organized the 4th of July Duck Race to raise money for the Friends’ library programs

  • Organized a raffle at the Winter Festival to raise money for the Friends’ library programs

  • Participated in Village Festivals, and funded the Halloween Carnival

  • Purchased new shelving for the Children’s area through a generous dedicated donation

  • Funded a Volunteer and Staff Dinner and other morale building initiatives

  • Installed a Little Free Library in Memory of Diana Sellers at Paisley’s Mountain Market in La Cueva

In addition to ongoing funding for programs and infrastructure, some of our goals for this year include a presentation by Anne Hillerman on June 13, and a new and nimbler website. In the new website, we are setting up email-based communications with our membership so that you can be directly notified of Friends-sponsored events and activities. There have been some bumps in this road and one of them is having current email addresses of our members and it would be helpful if you would share yours with us. We promise not to inundate your inbox and will never sell or otherwise share your contact information. Thanks again for your support!

Sincerely,

The Friends of the Jemez Springs Library Board

George Cornell, President
